Futurity

"Future, n. That period of time in which our affairs prosper, our friends are true and our happiness is assured." (Ambrose Bierce est vestri Dominus)

Biercean wit a bit too subtle and morose for the usual hick or homie, of whatever race or political affiliation. Bierce, like quite a few old-school irishmen who knew a bit of Latin(and even a few semi-bright scotsmen) realized, one, how pitiful a thing the English language was, and two, the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of both the Union and Confederacy.
